Family Therapy

Family therapists typically view a family as a system - and everyone is playing a role in that system. Most of the time, effective family therapy requires everyone to be a willing and active participant in the process. Although, in cases of abuse, addiction and estrangement, that is not always possible. Most families enter therapy with an idea of ‘the problem’, and we will work collaboratively to unpack these dynamics, examine them and effectively provide better tools to communicate, love, enjoy one another and build stronger connections.

I work with entire family systems, but adult siblings have been a primary area of focus in my practice. Normally siblings have gone through difficulties in childhood, either in a traumatic or abusive environment, have had different expectations or treatment from parents, and are struggling to have a healthy dynamic in adulthood.
